Prime Minister Barre presents vision for sustainable development at Africa Peace and Development Summit

Somalia Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre on Sunday delivered a keynote speech at the 5th Africa Peace and Development Summit in Aswan, emphasizing Somalia’s journey from years of instability to a promising path of recovery and growth.
He highlighted major achievements such as rebuilding federal institutions, securing historic debt relief, lifting the arms embargo, and enhancing national security.
The Prime Minister introduced the National Transformation Framework 2025–2030, which focuses on six strategic pillars including infrastructure, economic growth, social services, food security, environmental sustainability, and good governance.
He stressed that this transformation is a national mission that involves every Somali citizen working together to build a peaceful and prosperous future.
Prime Minister Hamza also commended Egypt for its steadfast support in peacebuilding and regional cooperation.
He described the relationship between Somalia and Egypt as a historic brotherhood committed to strengthening bilateral ties for mutual benefit.
